Faqs

  • 1. How did E.L.I.'s House get started?
The passion for E.L.I.’s House originated from our founder, Jenny, watching her oldest son struggle through adverse childhood experiences, as well as, from the adoption of her youngest daughter. These experiences with her children, created a desire to go wage war against the effects that trauma has on children, mothers and families as a whole.
  • 2. What does E.L.I.'s House stand for?
    The name has two meanings;
    (1) The first comes from Malachi 4:5-6 which says:

“I will send the prophet Elijah, he will turn the hearts of the parents back towards the children and the hearts of the children back to the parents.”

    (2) Each letter also stands for the names of Jenny’s children:
    E- Eli L- Luca I- Isabella
  • 3. What makes E.L.I.'s House different from other programs?
We are a faith-based organization that focuses, not just on the rehabilitation of women but also the rehabilitation of their children! We believe that moms and their children heal best if they heal together.

We are also on a farm which allows us to incorporate gardening, animal care, as well as equine therapy into our programming.
  • 4. Who will you accept into the E.L.I.'s House program?
To be accepted as an E.L.I.’s House resident, women must have parental rights of at least one of their children. Their children must be 9 years old or younger. We will accept women and their children who are homeless, displaced, or at risk due to domestic violence, sex trafficking, addictions, or other traumas.
  • 5. Where do you find women for your program?
The need is astronomical so women get referred to us from various people and organizations.

We find out about women in need from rehab facilities, court appointed officials, pediatricians, and other networking relationships we have built within the community.
  • 5. How much money do you need annually for opporations?
Our annual operating budget is roughly 800k.

We are 100% funded by donations!
  • 5. How many families can be at E.L.I.'s House at any given time?
Currently, we have the capacity to hold five women and their children. We are hoping to scale our programming in the future to meet the needs of even more families in the years to come!
