TRANSPORTATION
Help our moms get where they need to go.
Transportation is one of our greatest ongoing needs. Volunteers help drive our guests to appointments, school, work, and extracurricular activities. It’s a simple but meaningful way to support our moms while also building relationships with them along the way.
- Medical and counseling appointments
- School and educational programs
- Work and job-related activities
- Extracurricular activities for moms and kids
For many of our moms, a reliable ride isn't just convenient — it's the difference between attending a life-changing appointment or missing it entirely. Your willingness to drive opens doors.
PROVIDE A MEAL
A practical way to show love.
Providing a meal is a wonderful way to support our families. Volunteers can prepare a home-cooked meal or arrange restaurant delivery. You’re welcome to stay and share the meal with the families or simply drop it off. Either way, it helps lighten the load for our moms.
COOK AT HOME
Prepare your favorite recipe and bring it warm to our families.
ARRANGE DELIVERY
Order from a local restaurant and have it delivered on their behalf.
STAY & SHARE
You're always welcome to sit down, share the meal, and build community.
CHILDCARE
Invest in the lives of our kids.
Childcare volunteers may serve on Monday or Tuesday evenings, spending meaningful one-on-one time with one or several of our children. It's an investment in the next generation — and a joy for everyone involved.
• Support children during mom's programming hours
• Build consistent, trust-filled relationships with kids
• Create a safe, fun, and nurturing environment
Every Monday & Tuesday Evening
Childcare volunteers give moms the gift of uninterrupted time to focus on programming, classes, and their evening routines — knowing their children are loved and cared for.
HOUSEHOLD PROJECTS
Use your hands to make a difference.
If you enjoy hands-on work, this opportunity is for you. Volunteers help with cleaning,
organizing, and maintenance projects around the home. This is a great opportunity for groups such as friends, churches, schools, or teams who want to serve together.
Cleaning
Deep cleaning and regular upkeep of shared spaces.
Organizing
Sorting supplies, storage areas, and donation items.
Maintenance
Minor repairs and upkeep around the property.
Great for groups! Churches, schools, friend groups, and teams are warmly welcomed to serve together on household projects.
BECOME A MENTOR
Walk alongside a mom in a life-changing way.
Mentors play a vital role in supporting the women in our program. A mentor is a spiritually strong woman who encourages, supports, and challenges a mom as she works toward a stable and successful future. Mentors meet with their mentee at least twice a month and commit to the relationship for one year. Volunteers must serve with ELI’s House at least three times before being considered for mentorship.
LIFE SKILLS
Share your knowledge and passions.
Life Skills volunteers help lead classes that support our moms’ growth and independence. Topics may include spiritual development, budgeting, cooking, gardening, car maintenance, crafting, or other practical life skills. If you have a skill you’d love to share, we’d love to hear from you.
RESPITE CARE
Support families during challenging seasons.
Our goal is always to keep children with their mothers, but sometimes temporary respite care is needed. Respite volunteers may care for children for a weekend or occasionally longer to support a mom during a difficult time. Volunteers must serve at least three times before being considered for respite care.
ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT
Help behind the scenes.
Administrative volunteers assist staff with various organizational tasks that keep ELI’s House running smoothly. This might include preparing materials, organizing supplies, or helping with special projects.
MOM'S NIGHT OUT
Give moms a chance to rest and recharge.
On the last Friday of each month, we host Mom’s Night Out so our moms can enjoy a well-deserved evening off. Volunteers provide childcare during this time, creating a safe and fun environment for the kids.
BABY HELP
Hold, rock, and care for our youngest residents.
Occasionally we have newborns in the home who are too young to attend daycare. Volunteers can help by holding, rocking, feeding, and caring for babies while their moms attend classes, appointments, or get a little extra rest. When these needs arise, opportunities will be posted on VOMO.
When baby care needs arise, opportunities are posted on VOMO. Keep an eye out and sign up when you're available!
